Oral Hygiene Tips

  1. Oral Hygiene- Brush teeth 2x/day. Floss 1x/day. Use soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoridated toothpaste.
  2. Diet- Avoid foods high in sugar and carbohydrates. Healthy snack options include fruits and vegetables, and dairy products such as cheese. Chew xylitol chewing gum to satisfy sugary cravings.
  3. Morning Sickness- Rinse mouth with water (optional: and baking soda), or fluoridated mouthwashes after vomiting. Wait 1 hour post-vomiting to brush teeth.
  4. Visit Dentist- Visit dentist regularly during pregnancy, especially if you notice any changes to your oral health.
